JESUS DECLARED:

Just a little reminder on this Sunday…

Handicapped Veterans Association

Blessed are the humble in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you, when men shall revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matthew 5:3-12

  1. “suffer the little children to come unto me”. Many people wrongly interpret this as meaning that children need to ‘suffer’, when in fact, it means ADULTS need to ‘suffer’ the little children to reach Jesus = share the children’s suffering, share their burdens, suffer their pain and even, to provide for a child’s needs; basically, put the children FIRST. x

  2. The Sermon on the Mount has always had a lot of respect from many different types of people for its universal issues addressed. Sabine call is a “little” reminder but that is kind of an understatement. Its a good reminder and even an important reminder since the verses quote remind us that life is not always a bowl of cherries and that really, those verses are an appeal to us to always consider the long-term view of things and not get overwhelmed by any grievous situation we might end up in, temporarily. The Bible calls it long-suffering. A reward is the long term promise but till then, we will have various struggles along the way. the world is not an nice place and at the time we are in now, “the devil has come down to us in great anger, knowing he has but a short period of time left.” so he is ticked, to put it mildly and we just happen to be causing him some trouble.

Said another way, it can get pretty rough at times, but we can get through it and its worth it, too. To that end, we do have each other to boost each other. 1 Corinthians 13 is a short powerhouse chapter.
